Shadow Hand

Conjuration School – Level 0 – Forbidden

Type: Quick Spell, using a Bonus Action

Reach: 30 feet

Duration: 1 minute, using Concentration

Effect: You summon a levitating hand made of shadows from an unknown place.

The hand obeys all your commands. This command must be something simple that the hand can perform, like pulling a lever, grabbing an object and giving it to you, or giving an object to another person.

The hand can’t grab an object that weighs more than 10 pounds, and it cannot activate magical items. It moves 30 feet per turn, but it cannot leave the spell’s reach.

The hand is made of shadows, and it can easily move without being noticed. If you want the hand not to be noticed, you can make 1 Check using your Spell Skill as if you were rolling a Stealth Check for the hand. If the shadow hand is in a dark place, you make this Check with advantage.

You can also command the hand to Attack. When you do so, make 1 Ranged Attack within reach, dealing 1d4 dark damage on a hit. The hand can only make this Attack, and you can repeat it as a Bonus Action.

Curse: A dark entity possesses one of your hands, causing it to occasionally move by itself. Before you make a Sleight of Hand Check, you must succeed on a Persuasion Save (DC 15) to avoid your hand from being possessed. On a fail, you automatically fail any Sleight of Hand Checks for the next hour as that hand starts moving by itself.
