Psychic Illusion

Illusion School – Level 2

Type: Normal Spell

Reach: 60 feet

Duration: 10 minutes, using Concentration

Effect: You create a psychic illusion that appears completely real to only one creature.

Choose one target within reach. That target must then succeed on an Investigation Save or become affected by a psychic illusion.

You decide what the psychic illusion will be. The psychic illusion can assume the form of any creature, any hazardous environment, any possible sound, or any temperature.

However, after you have decided what the psychic illusion is, you cannot change it.

That target will always perceive the illusion as true, regardless of logic. The target will always justify the illusion’s existence in a delusional manner. However, after this spell has ended, the target will regain its logical senses. If the illusion had no rational explanation backing it up, the target will then understand it was affected by a spell.

The illusion can mentally harm or restrain the target. When you create the illusion, you can give it only one of these effects to it:

  • That target becomes Enchanted by the illusion, and you control its movements while it is Enchanted in this way.
  • Choose any skill. That target must make a Save using that skill at the start of its turn. It takes 2d12 psychic damage on a fail, or half as much on a success.
  • That target becomes Contained and Immobilized.

A target affected by this spell must repeat the Investigation Save at the end of its turn, ending the spell on a success.

Upcast: If you upcast this spell, you can choose 1 additional target for each Level upcasted.
