Pars Anima

Necromancy School – Level 6 – Forbidden

Type: Ritual Spell

Material: Up to 6 Captured Souls and 1 Special Item for each Captured Soul used

Casting Time: 12 hours

Reach: Self

Duration: Instantaneous

Effect: You divide your own soul in multiple pieces and then fuse each of them with the souls you used for this Ritual.

You can divide your own soul into multiple pieces and place them into a Special Item. This Special Item carrying a piece of your soul is called Pars. The number of Pars you create are the same as the number of souls you used for this Ritual.

However, each soul you used for this Ritual becomes fused with one Pars of your choice, becoming the guardian of that Pars. For this reason, you might want to be very selective for the souls you are using in this ritual.

The object carrying the Pars becomes Cursed. Any creature attuned with that item becomes possessed by the guardian soul fused with that Pars.

The guardian soul keeps all its abilities (except racial abilities), stats (except for the Strength and Dexterity stats) and skills that it had while alive, meaning it can still cast spells, use feats or class abilities. The soul also gains the racial abilities of the possessing body, unless the racial ability involves a feat or skill points.

The soul also uses the HP and Posture of the body. If it is reduced to 0 HP, the possession ends, making both the Curse and attunement with the Pars end. The Remove Curse can also end this Curse, ending the possession. This spell also purify the Pars itself, making it turn into a normal Special Item and destroying the piece of your soul that was on that item.

If you die, you can resurrect using any remaining Pars, possessing any creature attuned with that item.

However, you and the guardian soul of that Pars can fight over the control of the possessed body. If this happens, you and the soul fused with the Pars must make a Skill Contest using the Concentration skill to see who controls that body. This Skill Contest can then be repeated every hour.

During a Long rest, you can also switch control and possess any creature attuned with a Pars you created. This works even if the Pars is in other dimensions, but it does not work if the Pars is in other timelines.

You can cast this Ritual spell again to create more Pars. However, you can only create a maximum of 6 Pars, and you cannot create more of them even if your other Pars are destroyed. If all Pars you created are destroyed, you die.
