Cosmic Tome
Very Rare Miscellaneous – Cursed
Special Effect: Any creature that reads this entire tome becomes incredibly more intelligent, gaining a +2 bonus to its Intelligence stat, to a maximum stat bonus of +7. This bonus can only be gained once.
Permanent Curse: Anyone that reads this tome gains a Permanent Curse, which cannot be removed even by the Remove Curse spell. The only way to remove this Curse is by removing all the memories and knowledge of the creature that read the tome, but doing so also removes all the bonuses to the intelligence stat that creature gained this way. While Cursed this way, the creature has the following effects:
- You become an Aberration type, in addition to the creature type of your race. You also learn how to speak the Far Speech language, which doesn’t count against the total number of languages you know.
- You become weak against brain damage. You also lose any resistances or immunities to brain damage, as organic neural tissue starts to grow inside of you.
- You have disadvantage on all Saves against being Confused.
Miscellaneous Items
Miscellaneous Items can come in various forms and have various different effects. They don’t need attunement and you can carry as many as you want with no limitation.
They usually are not useful in combat, but they have a lot of utility effects that can bring new creative solutions for complex problems.
