Effect: You create a tsunami.
Choose 2 points within reach to form a line. The area within 25 feet within that line is covered by a huge wall of water. The wall of water then extends 300 feet high up.
A creature that starts its turn inside this area, or enters in this area for the first time during their turn must make an Athletics Save. That creature takes 12d8 strike damage on a fail, or half as much on a success.
Regardless if it succeeds or fails this Save, an Enormous or smaller creature becomes trapped inside this wall of water.
While trapped this way, it is considered underwater and it automatically succeeds the Save from this spell to take damage. The creature can use 1 Action to make 1 Athletics Save, swimming out of the water area on a success. A creature that can use the Swimming speed as their Base Speed automatically succeeds this second Save.
At the start of your turns, the height of the wall of water decreases by 50 feet and the damage from this spell also decreases by 2d8. The wall then moves 50 feet forward. Any creature trapped inside this wall also moves 50 feet forward with the water. If the water moves to the space of any creature, that creature must then make the Save from this spell to take damage. The spell ends when the height of the wall reaches 0 feet.
A target that takes this strike damage stops being Ignited. This spell’s damage also deals double Posture damage.
Upcast: If you upcast this spell, you can increase this damage by 1d8 for each level upcasted.
